配属希望の皆さんへ / For Students Interested in Joining Our Laboratory
「安全」は現代のものづくりに欠かせません．ロボットと人間のインタラクションを通じて安全な社会を考える研究室です．
人を対象とした実験・動作解析・ものづくり等に主体的に取り組む学生を歓迎します． “Safety” is an essential element of modern engineering and manufacturing.
Our laboratory explores how to realize a safer society through the interaction between robots and humans.

指導方針 / Supervision Policy
学士では研究のプロセスを学んで着実に実施することを，修士では研究目標の達成に向けて仮説立案・手法提案・実証を主体的に行うことを，博士には研究課題を自ら設定して主体的に研究を行い成果を上げることを期待しており，それに基づいた指導を行います． In our laboratory, undergraduate students are expected to learn the research process and carry it out steadily.
Master’s students are expected to independently formulate hypotheses, propose methods, and conduct verification in order to achieve their research goals.
Doctoral students are expected to define their own research questions, conduct research independently, and produce significant outcomes.
Our supervision is provided based on these expectations.
当研究室ではコアタイムは設けませんが，週1回の研究室セミナーおよびグループミーティングに参加してもらいます．
自身の発表に加え，質疑に積極的に参加することで，研究を進める有意義な意見交換を行うとともに，伝わりやすいスライド作成や説明のスキル向上を意図しています．
ただし，社会人については全く別の話なので要相談となります．

Although our laboratory does not have fixed core hours, students are expected to attend a weekly laboratory seminar and group meetings.
Through their own presentations and active participation in discussions, students are expected to exchange constructive ideas for advancing their research and to improve their skills in preparing presentation slides and explaining their work effectively.
学部生（学士課程） / Bachelor course

配属を考えている学部生は，３年後期に行われる研究室配属説明会に参加してください．それ以外に個別の相談も受け付けます．
博士前期課程（修士課程） / Master course
入試および教育課程については，研究科の入試情報
および研究科のWebサイトを参照してください．
当研究室は，総合理工学研究科 繊維学専攻 機械・ロボット学分野です．
4月入学の一般枠の場合，7月の出願時点でTOEICの点数を提出しなくてはなりません．計画的に準備を進めてください． For details on the entrance examination and curriculum,

Our laboratory belongs to the Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Division, Department of Textile Science and Technology, Graduate School of Science and Technology.
For the general admission track for April enrollment, applicants are required to submit their TOEIC score at the time of application in July.
Please prepare well in advance.
研究室外からの配属希望者は，必ず出願前に秋山までご相談ください．オンライン又は対面で面接をして，進学動機，テーマの希望，進路などを聞かせてもらいます．
なお，機械・ロボット学分野では，１回以上の外部発表を修了要件としています．詳しくはシラバスをご確認ください．

Applicants from outside our laboratory who wish to join us must contact Dr. Akiyama before applying.
An interview will be conducted online during which I will ask about your motivation for entering the graduate program, your preferred research topics, and your future career plans.
Please note that, in the Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Division, students are required to give at least one external presentation as part of the completion requirements.

博士後期課程（博士課程） / Ph.D course
学位取得の不確実性や経済的なリターンの少なさを考えると，博士進学を軽々に勧めることは難しいところです． しかし，博士課程では研究企画から投稿論文の発表，そして学位審査の過程を通じて一人前の研究者としての能力を磨き，対外的にもそれを証明することができます． 卒業後の進路はアカデミアに限らず，最近は博士向けの就職支援サービスも充実してきています．また，大学内外から経済的な支援を受けることも可能です． そのため，本研究室では内部，学外，社会人の進学を奨励します．ただ，博士課程は修士に輪をかけて事前の研究計画が重要です． 進学をご検討の方は必ず事前に秋山までご相談ください．また，社会人の場合は大きく事情が異なりますのでこちらをご覧ください．

当研究室は，総合医理工学研究科 総合理工学専攻 ファイバー工学分野 感性・ファッション工学ユニットです． Through the doctoral program, students can develop their abilities as independent researchers through the full research process, from planning research projects to publishing journal papers and undergoing the degree defence.
The doctoral degree also serves as external evidence of these abilities.

Career paths after graduation are not limited to academia. In recent years, employment support services for doctoral graduates have also become more substantial.
For these reasons, our laboratory encourages applications to the doctoral program from current students, external applicants, and working professionals.
However, careful research planning before admission is even more important for doctoral study than for master’s study.
Those who are considering entering the doctoral program must contact Dr. Akiyama befor applying.
