Shinshu University Faculty of Textile Science and Technology Digital Archive was established to offer a variety of reference materials on textile science and technology, including valuable historic materials inherited from the faculty’s predecessor, the Ueda College of Sericulture, to the general public.
A collection of chops exported raw silk. Compiled by a sophomore in the yarning major by contacting yarn makers throughout Japan, and donated to the college in 1913.
Course material used at the Ueda College of Sericulture and educational material for locals engaged in silk cultivation. The materials include various wall-hanging diagrams, models, and sugoroku.
A collection of historical documents pertaining to the Ueda College of Sericulture. It includes commemorative post cards, early photographs (negatives made of glass dry plates), a school layout drawing of the Ueda College of Sericulture Handbook, and its decorative cover. Texts from the Ueda College of Sericulture Handbook are available for viewing on SOAR, the Shinshu University Institutional Repository.
The library of silk cultivation includes Silkworm Handbook (Enomoto Collection), Secret Notes on Silk Cultivation, and Silk Cultivation Handbook [New Edition]. All brocades depicting scenes of silk cultivation from Enomoto Collection are displayed.
